ADAMI Media Prize for TV-Entertainment (Fiction)

The action takes place in a village in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, Republic of Moldova. The characters of the film are an 88-year-old blind woman and four generations of her family. The younger generations are forced to leave their country in order to feed themselves. The old woman can’t hear the voices of her grandchildren. She can’t convey the richness of their native language, the numerous ancestral traditions and customs to those who have left. This distance leads to the disintegration of rela-tions between generations and to the disappearance of the national language and culture.

Действие происходит в одном из сел УТА Гагаузия в Республике Молдова. Герои фильма - 88-летняя слепая женщина и четыре поколения ее семьи. Молодое поколение вынуждено уехать из своей страны в поисках куска хлеба за границу. Слепая старушка не слышит голоса своих внуков, не может передать богатство языка, многочисленные традиции и обычаи предков уехавшим. Это приводит к распаду отношений между поколениями и исчезновению национального языка и культуры.

It has been said that folk music unites people of different professions, generations and even nations. The first episode of the music programme The Country of Songs is dedicated to such interethnicexchange between two cultures. The Belarusian-Ukrainian ensemble Kyselianocka demonstrates that folk culture has no language barriers, and the main character of the epi-sode, Vira Yakivna, will even give us a recipe for the national Belarusian dish. The ensemble Berehynia demonstrates the idea that it’s „never too late”. With an average age of 80 years, its members became real celebrities in Ukraine and also abroad, and the group members even took their first plane trip!

Говорят, что народная музыка объединяет людей разных профессий, поколений и даже народов. Такому межнациональному обмену между двумя культурами посвящен первый выпуск музыкальной программы „Страна песен“. Беларуско-украинский ансамбль „Киселяночка“ демонстрирует, что в народе нет языковых барьеров, а главная героиня серии Вера Яковлевна даже подскажет рецепт национального Белaруского блюда. Ансамбль „Берегиня“ - хороший пример того, что в народе называют „никогда не поздно“. При среднем возрасте 80 лет ее участники стали настоящими знаменитостями не только в Украине, но и за ее пределами, и даже совершили свое первое путешествие на самолете!
