We are sad to announce the passing of our board member Dieter Boden, a former German diplomat, who was part of the ADAMI Media Prize since its beginning in 2015. During his long diplomatic career, Dieter Boden had also served as Special Envoy for the UN and OSCE for conflict resolution missions in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, and in other ambassadorial roles.
After his retirement, he remained connected to the region and supported numerous peace building and development initiatives. We are grateful for his commitment to the ADAMI ideas and principles.
With his long experience and great knowledge, he contributed significantly to the success of the ADAMI Media Prize in creating a large network among media professionals in the region and to establish connections with key personalities from cultural and political life in the region and beyond.
We express our sincere condolences to his family. His voice for mutual understanding and reconciliation will always be remembered.

Sometimes you get the word out in six languages (or more)
In the world of new media, video blogs are taking a more and more privileged space and attracting ever-wider public interest as a means of reaching online audiences.
The vlog is also a platform to positively showcase cultural diversity. Through the use of engaging content, the vlog can create dialogue for encouraging tolerance and promoting the diversity in society to an audience across countries, cultures, traditions, religions.
The ADAMI Dialogue Baku creative seminar, under the motto “Video blogging: Find your expression, record it and post it!” aims to outline the structure of this vlogging phenomenon and help participants in the creation and implementation of their own video-blogging projects.
The two-day workshop seminar will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan on October 27-28, 2017 at the Yarat Contemporary Art Space.
Participants will learn how video blogs are created, produced, function, and how they are influencing the contemporary media space. 20 participants will be selected to participate in the workshop and will engage in project presentations, joint discussions, and work sessions in two separate groups.
Among the experts will be Gökhan Ekremoğlu, who works at YouTube in San Francisco, and Lena of the video blog considercologne, who will talk about the conceptual and technical aspects of the new genre and commercial opportunities for video blogging,
In the framework of the seminar, on October 28 there will be a lecture for media professionals with Dominique Willieme, Chief Online Strategist of German-French Cultural Channel ARTE, open to the public.
The seminar is open to anyone with a video blog or an idea for a video blog, including professional journalists and representatives from TV companies working with video formats. Participants should have practical experience working with and preparing video materials.
ADAMI is accepting applications for vlogging projects on a variety of topics and genres -- such as news, comedy, beauty & fashion, science, and more -- which promote the idea of cultural diversity, tolerance, integration, and peaceful co-existence. Vlogs can be on different stages of development, from the concept stage, to a vlog which is already online.
Participating projects in ADAMI Dialogue Baku can apply in the 2018 edition of the ADAMI Media Prize competition with their video materials.

New workshop for TV and Visual Media Professionals, “ADAMI Dialogue – Yerevan”
The ADAMI Media Prize for Cultural Diversity in Eastern Europe is launching a workshop forum in Yerevan, Armenia on November 4-5, 2017, for TV journalists, producers, and film directors working on topics of cultural diversity, integration, and peaceful coexistence.
The workshop is open to participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine, with the aim of creating dialogue on how to showcase diversity in the region in visual media, and to establish networks with broadcasters and filmmakers in Europe. ADAMI Dialogue – Yerevan will be a new opportunity for TV and film professionals to advance their video-based projects through a creative workshop with international experts, including documentary filmmaker Vitaly Mansky and producer and film director Andrzej Klamt. Within the framework of the forum there will be a public screening of Vitaly Mansky’s film Close Relatives and a Q&A with the director.
Participants can apply for the workshop with concepts and projects of different formats and stages of development, and will receive recommendations from the forum experts for developing, shooting, editing.
About the ADAMI Media Prize
The ADAMI Media Prize was created to encourage filmmakers, journalists, and audio-visual media professionals in the EU Eastern Partnership countries to promote topics of migration, tolerance, and cultural diversity. The prize rewards outstanding TV, film, and online programmes which deal with diversity-related issues. Alongside the prize, ADAMI organizes several events for networking and fosters exchange among media professionals in Eastern Europe and the EU.

ADAMI Media Prize for Cultural Diversity in Eastern Europe is launching a Call for Applications for video-based projects on the topics of cultural diversity, integration, and peaceful coexistence, to participate in a two-day forum in Yerevan, Armenia on November 4-5, 2017. TV journalists, producers and film directors from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine working on films, news reports, or videos can apply.
ADAMI Dialogue Yerevan accepts entries from projects on several stages of development – from the concept note to the editing phase.
The forum will be a creative workshop between experts from European countries and participants. The aim of the workshop is to create dialogue on showcasing the diversity in the region in visual media, and also to establish networks between the Eastern Partnership countries and broadcasters and filmmakers in Europe.
Participants will have 5-7 minutes to present their projects at the forum, including screenings where applicable. Ways of implementing the films or videos in a visual and thematic context will be discussed during the workshop. The recommendations will be formulated to support the participants in further steps of their project, including developing, shooting, and editing.
Participants in ADAMI Dialogue Yerevan can apply for the 2018 edition of the ADAMI Media Prize with their final video materials.
Experts leading the ADAMI Dialogue Yerevan will include documentary filmmaker Vitaly Mansky and producer and film director Andrzej Klamt. The workshop will be moderated by filmmaker Irene Langemann.
